Signate Announces New Asterisk Book and CD Set; VoIP Telephony with Asterisk Book and CD Set is a Complete Software PBX Appliance
SAN FRANCISCO -- Signate today announced a new VoIP Telephony with Asterisk Book and CD Set(TM), a complete software PBX (private branch exchange) telephony appliance in a single package. The set includes 1.6GB of software: Linux pre-configured for telephony, a stable 1.0x distribution of the open source Asterisk PBX, Signate's free PBX monitoring, and an installer that loads it all. The software is also available separately.
Once Signate's Asterisk Installation 2005 CD set is loaded onto a PC with an internet or PSTN telephone connection it creates a running VoIP PBX ready for configuration. The included book, Signate's VoIP Telephony with Asterisk, shows users how to complete the configuration by adding a Asterisk dial plan and extensions.
"Signate's VoIP Telephony with Asterisk Book and CD Set puts all the software a new user needs in one place, and it's already tested and proven to work together," said Michael Crown, Managing Partner of The VoIP Connection(TM), a leading reseller of VoIP telephony equipment and software. "And even experienced Asterisk professionals like ourselves can benefit from Signate's monitoring service," he said.
SigMON, Signate's included PBX monitoring software, helps keep the PBX running. SigMON monitors about 20 different conditions on the PBX and sends alerts if a condition needs to be attended to. Monitored conditions range from hardware conditions such as available disk space and CPU utilization, software conditions such as whether the PBX is running, and telephony conditions such the state of connections to telecommunications providers. One instance of Signate's PBX monitoring service is free for the PBX created by a Signate Asterisk Installation 2005 CD set.
Customers who elect to activate Signate's PBX monitoring software are prompted to go to a Signate web page to register. They can choose to have Signate's support staff receive alerts in addition to themselves.
Signate's VoIP Telephony with Asterisk Book and CD Set is $89.95 and Signate's Asterisk Installation 2005 CD is $49.95. Signate support services are charged by the hour.
Signate's Asterisk Installation CD 2005 requires a personal computer or server capable of running Red Hat Linux. An FXO PCI board or external gateway device is necessary to connect the PBX to the conventional telephone network. A high speed internet connection is required to connect the PBX to a VoIP telephone service provider.
Signate may discontinue its free PBX monitoring at any time, upon thirty days prior notice to the email addresses provided to Signate for sending alerts.
